No Scanty Rainfall In Any District Of State

The first phase of monsoon has brought smile on the faces of farmers in Madhya Pradesh. As of today, there is not even a single district which can be listed for scanty rainfall in the State. As many as 33 districts received rainfall more than average while ten districts average rainfall and seven districts recorded below average rainfall. The districts received above average rainfall include Ujjain, Ratlam, Shajapur, Mandsaur, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Datia, Morena, Sheopur, Bhind, Rewa, Sidhi, Singarouli, Satna, Umaria, Dindori, Sagar, Damoh, Panna, Chhattarpur, Tikamgarh, Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara and Mandla. These districts recorded 20 percent rainfall above average. Similarly, the districts which recorded average rainfall are: Jhabua, Dewas, Neemuch, Shahdol, Anuppur, Sehore, Harda, Betul and Seoni. These districts recorded average rainfall from +19 percent to -19 percent. The districts which have low-rainfall include Indore, Dhar, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Burhanpur and Balaghat. These districts have registered below average rainfall between -20 percent and -59 percent.
