NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP president Harsh Vardhan on Monday said the Sheila Dikshit Government's move to issue provisional regularisation certificate to unauthorised colonies by organising camps amounted to misleading the residents of these colonies as till now the State and Union governments had not submitted the scheme -- along with the affidavit on providing basic amenities to these colonies -- to the Supreme Court. Stating that the Government cannot regularise even a single colony until it gets Supreme Court approval, Dr. Vardhan said the Congress Government was only making false announcements to attract various sections of voters ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Also, he declared that the document to be given to the residents' welfare associations of unauthorised colonies in the name of provisional certificate would not have any legal sanctity and utility. The BJP leader said the Delhi Government had announced that a special camp would be organised at Pragati Maidan from August 1 for regularisation of unauthorised colonies. Here the people of these colonies would be given provisional regularisation certificates on depositing the required documents and other information. Dr. Vardhan said a scrutiny of the documents submitted revealed that the DDA and the MCD had found that not a single colony had provided all the information demanded by them.
