The Karnataka state government has approved an important water supply project with an intention to solve acute drinking water problem in Mangalore city corporation limits and adjoining areas. A Rs 14 crore action plan has been prepared for the construction of a vented dam. No part of the land would be submerged in the construction of the proposed dam as the river is wide and the dam height is low.
