The Irrigation and Forest Departments are under a cloud for allegedly flouting rules and regulations laid down for leasing out strips of prime forest land at many places in Gurdaspur district. During the past few years, it is reliably learnt that all norms prescribed by the authorities were set aside and strips of prime land worth crores were leased out allegedly under the influence of officials.
