NOIDA: To avoid hurdle in pace of development due to environmental clearances, Centre has formed district-level environment impact assessment authority (DEIAA).
The DEIAA, with amendment in Environment (protection) Act 1986, will be eligible to give mining clearances of plots having 50 thousand sq. feet or below.
Some of states had already adopted but in UP the implementation got delayed.
It's a big relief to those to have to run between Noida and Lucknow to get mining permission before commencing construction. The district magistrate will be the chairman of the authority, which will issue mining permission. With the development, now developers will not have excuse of delay projects as it took months to get mining permission from Lucknow. This will also end corruption as developers accuses that bribe was demanded to issue permission.
The government has amendment and notified the provision. A copy of the notification has also been issued to the concerned departments and the Gautambudh Nagar administration.
On explaining the details, Gautam budh Nagar district magistrate NP Singh said that there will be two committees. One will technically assess the proposal while the other committee will act as the authority, which will ultimately issue the mining permission or licenses.
District magistrate will be head of that committee while concerned sub divisional magistrate and three other members will also be member of the committee.
"The committee, after scanning the papers and site, will grant permission," he added.
