The IT city now has an energy audit control room for close monitoring of power consumption, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) claims. With computers zooming in on consumption-related data, the control room is giving impetus to energy audit, for which electricity meters are being installed at all transformers, officials said on Tuesday. The meters are being relocated on poles in a phased manner, power department authorities said. Meters of all HT industries have been shifted outside, at the gates; meters for new connections are being installed on units' gates. DHBVN officials, meanwhile, claimed to have accomplished a "record reduction' of aggregate transmission and commercial losses over the past one year. They said such losses have been cut by about 12 per cent in the past three years.
