NREGA funds: Gulbarga district spends Rs. 1 crore each day

13,446 works have been taken up under employment guarantee scheme
Out of Rs. 105.47 cr. spent, Rs. 72.69 cr. has gone for wages and Rs. 32.27 cr. on material
9,467 households have been provided 100 days of employment this year as stipulated under the Act
For Employment generation: Under NREGA, repair of roads such as the one connecting Kasarbosga village and Hipparga villages in Jewargi taluk will be taken up. The recent floods in Gulbarga district have damaged the road completely.
Gulbarga: Gulbarga district has set a new benchmark for the other districts in the State by creating new employment avenues for those in need in rural areas by utilising funds made available under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA).
The administration is spending Rs. 1 crore and more under the NREGA on each day for generating employment opportunities in the district. Authorities hope to spend over Rs. 2 crore each day from now on by stepping up the activities under the NREGA as part of the Government
