About one thousand people of Bokakhat subdivision led by Golaghat district Krisak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) has recently submitted a memorandum to the SDO (c) Bokakhat demanding the implementation of NREGA scheme in Bokakhat subdivision immediately as the Government had announced its implementation from the month of April 2008. The Samiti demanded job cards with its full guarantee period. It also demanded honest distribution of rice, salt, sugar etc in the subdivision under public distribution system (PDS) alleging that the dishonest fair price shopkeepers were regularly exploiting the public both in quantity and price of the commodities . The Samiti highlighted in the memorandum that if the SDO (C) fails to bring the situation under control, the public will take matters into their own hands.
