After initial hiccups, Rural Development Minister Churchill Alemao says the National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme has finally taken off in South Goa district. If Alemao is to be believed, the RDA has sanctioned over two crores for works under the NREG scheme, providing employment to the people in the district countryside. Figures dished out by the RDA Minister indicates that Sanguem has received funds totalling Rs 65 lakh for works under the NREG in the taluka.
