The rich forest cover of the two hill districts of North Cachar Hills and Karbi Anglong, is under threat of denundation as the banned NCCN and local militant outfits like the Karbi National Volunteers , the Karbi People's Force and the Dtma Halam Daogah are indulging in the illegal felling of trees by issuing permits to some timber contractors.
