The 24 government-run companies that have promised to generate 18,819 MW of green energy capacity in five years include NTPC Ltd., Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd., Coal India Ltd., National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd. and SAIL (India) Ltd. Other than power generation, Green Brilliance Energy Pvt. Ltd. and CVC India Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. have committed $2 billion to produce 3 lakh tonnes each of bioethanol and pellets. K.C. Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd. have committed to producing 4,000 cubic metres of biogas, while Jakson Engineers Ltd. plans to set up Solar RO systems and mobile and semi-mobile generators. Twelve private firms have committed to manufacturing equipment that could generate 43,300 MW of renewable energy.
