There would be nothing wrong about Naga villages in Assam just as there are Naga villages in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh or elsewhere in the North-east. After all, we have many villages inhabited by Bangladeshis and Nepalis who have migrated from other countries. The Nagas are from the Indian Union, no matter what some of them might say. What is not right, however, is an attempt by about 50 Naga families to cross over to Assam and to attempt to acquire territory in Assam on false pretexts. These families recently crossed into Assam and attempted to establish a village under the name of Aturkimi Tribal Model Village inside the Dhansiri reserve forest in Karbi Anglong district on the plea that 2,500 hectares of land had been allotted to them to set up the village...editorial
