Bangaloreans will be spared long queues for accessing government services. Starting April 1, the latest e-governance project Bangalore One promises to make lives easier. Using 15 such proposed centres in the city, citizens can interact with BCC, BWSSB, BESCOM, BSNL, RTO and other government departments. In a maximum of 15 minutes, one can apply for a new passport, pay utility bills, apply for new connections and even book cinema tickets! And all this for free. A formal agreement was signed on Monday between the State Government and a consortium formed by CMS Computers and Ram Informatics in the presence of the heads of various stakeholder departments.
