NAZIRA, Oct 13: The ONGC(L) though booking profits from the crude oil of Asom yet it seems to be reluctant to give thought to the problems of oil field areas. Such an oil field is Geleki where more than 20 oil drilling stations are there. The drilling stations are polluting the Geleki area every day with its poisonous substances which is harmful to any living species but the concerned authority is not responding to such problems of the people of the area. Therefore, the people of the oil field areas have been demanding compensation against the pollution of ONGC(L), but it is not responding to the demands. Moreover, the Limited is quite indifferent towards the socio-economic development in the oil field areas. If the Limited goes on maintaining this attitude the locals are resolved to start a series of demonstration to get their demands fulfilled.
