The Himachal Pradesh high Court in an interim order stayed the directions issued by the Forest Department whereby, it had taken away the Ghasni rights of the residents of Dharni village from the taxy Ghasni. Petitioners had alleged that they had a right to cut grass from the taxy Ghasni as per a Wazib-ul-arz of 1916 under which the Ranas of the state acquired the land for widening the forest area.
