Alienation of the tribals was the most outstanding feature of the year just gone by in Orissa. Victims of exploitation and police firings, the adivasis in various parts of the State came to the verge of revolt. The Government, having realised the folly of using force to quell the tribal uprising, has apparently decided to look deeper into the causes of strife.
