Over 150,000 people in Islamabad live in Kutcha Abadis where no basic amenities like water, electricity, gas, sewage, health and education have been provided by the authority concerned. An official source said out of a total of 16 Kutcha Abadis established in Islamabad, 11 are being upgraded or regularised while six have been declared illegal as these were set up after 1985.
