The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) discovered the largest ever ozone hole over Antarctica. Today, it measures 28.3 million square kilometres while two years ago it was 27.2 million square kilometres. Now people have to use sun screen creams, ultraviolet protective sunglasses, wide-brimmed hats and clothing with long sleeves for protection from ultraviolet ray. Experts say that industralised nations must now be more proactive in climate change negotiations and quickly implement strict measures to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions if the ozone layer has to be recovered.
