There is increasing evidence that the grave warnings of climate change at the various World Summits on Sustainable Development are coming true. For one, even as the residents of Delhi were lamenting the absence of the familiar winter chill, cold descended as it has never done in certain parts of the country. While Amritsar in Punjab is reeling under minus 2.6 degree celsius, the Nakki lake in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, reported a layer of ice. Snowy frost was rumoured in central Indian hill resort of Panchmarhi, even as icy winds have blown across the desert State of Rajasthan and January hailstorms have lashed parts of Madhya Pradesh...editorial
