Packaged water days are over!

Rajesh Patel, has made up his mind to quit the reverse osmosis (RO) filter company job. Reason? Takers for RO units have suddenly dipped, he says. "Six people in the last week have refused to buy the units. They said they would like to wait for Narmada water before making an investment on RO units.' Once Patel gets his salary cheque on November 7, he will put in his papers. "Four others will join me,' he adds. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) seems to have made up for all the flak it has faced in terms of octroi and property tax. The prospect of Narmada water flowing in each household of the 15 lakh people of the newly-merged AMC areas has led residents to chuck RO filters at home and switch over from packaged drinking water to Narmada water. No wonder the RO and packaged water industry is wringing its hands.
