Pak to resume work on controversial dam project

The Pakistan government has decided to go ahead with the construction of a controversial 34-year-old dam project despite opposition from two provinces. The World Bank has told the government that funds for the Kalabagh dam would be available if Pakistan resumes construction, which was started way back in 1964 but was suspended thereafter.In view of this the government has decided to go ahead with the project, a highly placed government official said.
