The Legislative Assembly today passed the Karnataka Panchayat Raj (3rd Amendment) Bill 2000, which makes it mandatory for all the village panchayats to report cases of bonded labour to he authorities concerned amidst apprehension expressed by the Opposition members that the provisions of the Bill may be misused by the panchayats ultimately disrupting peace in the villages.
