The Centre announced setting up of a high-level advisory council to popularise the concept of artificial recharge among all stake holders and to create public awareness. To be headed by water resources minister Saifuddin Soz, the council would have representatives of various central ministries including rural development, urban development, Planning Commission besides experts/representatives of farmers, financial institutions, industry and NGOs as its members.
