The Petitions Committee headed by Shakurbasti MLA Dr SC Vats has recommended restructuring the entire sewage and drainage network of the Capital and bringing it under a single authority. The Committee on Wednesday tabled its second report on desilting of drains in the Capital in the Delhi Assembly. The Committee has directed Delhi Government's Urban Development Department to submit its report specifying the action taken on the recommendations within three months of the presentation of the committee's report in the Assembly. The committee also recommended that civil engineering experts from IIT Roorkee or Delhi be involved in this work for an objective and independent appraisal.
