Fire services rushed to the Comba area of the Commercial capital following oil spill on the main road on Monday noon.
Inquires later revealed that the oil spill occurred due to leakage to kerosene barrels stored outside a departmental store.
Fire officer Gill Souza expressed his surprise over the storage of the kerosene barrels outside the store and wondered how the authorities have issued licence for the store owner for storage of the kerosene barrels.
He said the presence of the kerosene barrels poses danger to citizens and the surrounding area as the item stored inside is a highly combustible substance.
Fire men later cleaned the road with foam and later with water, before clearing the road for vehicular traffic.
