The Supreme Court has held that royalty on forest regeneration or replacement cost because forests are no long naturally renewable resources. The court passed the ruling while dismissing appeals of Rayalaseema Paper Mills and Bhadrachalam Paper Boards Ltd. challenging the finalisation of royalty on bamboo and hardwood supplied to the paper industry in Andhra Pradesh.
