Industries dealing with hazardous waste have something to be cheerful about. The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has decided not to collect authorisation and analysis fee fopr processing the applications relating to industries which fall in this category. This is in consonance with the provisions of the Hazardous Waste Amendment Rules, 2003, following the changes made by the Union Ministry of Forests and Environment. It will be enforced after the APPCB meets in Chief Secretary's chamber on January 28. Since 2000, the APPCB has been collecting Rs 7,500 under the Hazardous Wastes Rules, 1989.
