Pepsi has openly challenged the testing methodology which concluded its soft drinks contianed a deadly cocktail of pesticides but the Delhi-based NGO whose report stirred a hornet's nest now says it is up to the government to decide who is right. Pepsi has already approached the High Court. In presentations, Pepsi chief Rajiv Bakshi seeks to demolish the case built by the NGO, the Centre for Science and Environment, on pesticide residues in 12 cold drink brands from the Coke and Pepsi stables. He bases his arguments on CSE's claim that it tested samples according to the US Environment Protection Agency's established protocol and proceeds to list at least seven "deviations" in how CSE went about the job.
