Phase II of highways project awaits Cabinet panel nod

The second phase of Prime Minister's National Highways Development Project comprising 7,300 km of north-south and east-west corridors will be taken up by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs shortly for approval.Highway projects under Phase II linking Srinagar in the North to Kanyakumari in the South and Porbandar in the West to Silchar in the East is estimated to cost Rs 34,000 crore.
