In a rare spectacle the Pheasant-tailed jacanas have started their breeding activities at the Madhavaram jheel after a period of five years. In the recent past the birds had shifted their activities to Manali jheel, located close by as the floating vegetation at Madhavaram was destroyed in mid-1993, when deepening work on the jheel was carried out say naturalists in the city.
