The forestry projects of the Forest Department seem to have failed: this is apparent when one considers that only three per cent of the area in this Faridabad district is under tree cover. This is when the national policy on forestry envisages that at least 20 per cent of the land must be under tree cover and the department spends lakhs of rupees every year on the project.
