The Planning Commission has called for intensive research and development (R&D) in the fisheries and marine products' sector to achieve the WHO recommendation of an intake of 11 kg fish per person annually."Efforts will be made to intensify R&D activities for the production of quality fish seeds and feed for augmenting fish production and productivity during the Ninth Plan draft.
