The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has promoted an automotive emissions monitoring organisation called Society for Automotive Fitness & Environment(SAFE) which is proposing to set up a centre for insepction of commercial vehicles. SIAM has earmarked Rs 1 crore for the model inspection and certification(I&C) centre.
