The Planning Commission has allocated Rs 1,800 crore for executing two mega projects under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP), the Union Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, Mr T R Baalu, said. Under this, selected National Highways would be upgraded into four lanes, with the aim of connecting economic zones, industrial centres, historic places, ports and state capitals.
