The State Government is actively considering a proposal to augment the extent of protected areas of reserve forests, Mr. J. C. Kala, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, said. Talking to reporters, he said that as against the national average of four per cent protected areas, Tamil Nadu accounted for 13 per cent.
