Plant transplants will not root out problem, say greens

The municipal corporation's decision to transplant the two century-old rain trees on Veer Savarkar Marg at a cost of Rs 40 to Rs 45 lakhs has come in for flak from citizens' organisations and tree lovers who say that it would be far more logical and cheaper to let the trees be and place bliniers and reflectors at the spot to warn motorists.
