Professor R C Sobti, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Mayor Pardeep Chhabra, and the fraternity from the university planted saplings at the P U campus today, inaugurating a week-long plantation drive. A march was also taken out to salute the martyrs. About 300 saplings of neem, ashoka and others were planted by the gathering. By March 31, the university would have 1,000 saplings planted. and it will be a frontrunner in strengthening the environment, said the V-C.
