The Karnataka Forest Department has submitted a proposal to the state government, seeking to set up two special courts in Chikmagalur and Shimoga districts for the speedy disposal of cases relating to encroachment of forest lands.About 55,000 acres of forest land had been encroached in the districts by thousands of coffee growers.
