Plots allotted to dairy owners

Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra on Friday started the process of allotment of plots in Ghogha Dairy Colony. Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Mehra said all the illegal dairies running in urban areas would be relocated in Ghogha Dairy Colony by August 31. "In the first phase, 2,000 plots with adequate infrastructural facilities have been developed. The second draw of lots will be held shortly.' Stating that the process of relocation of illegal dairies had been made transparent, MCD Standing Committee Chairman Vijendra Gupta said the relocation process had got delayed due to various disputes and now the civic body had successfully started the allotment proc-ess with utmost transparency. Mr. Gupta said all the remaining development work would be completed shortly and the remaining dairy owners will also be relocated. To ensure transparency, the process of draw of lots was carried out by officials of the Delhi Development Authority who have considerable expertise in this regard. Two hundred and fifty-four applicants were allotted a total of 304 plots. The process was started from large dairy owners to whom four plots each were allotted keeping in view the number of animals they foster. The lowest category was of small dairy owners who were given one plot each.
