Launching a camouflaged campaign against a judgement passed by the green bench of the high court targeting the manual testing centres, the cartel of auto emission testing centres has shut down all the 136 centres, including the 15 automatic ones, quibbling over various aspects of the order. As a result, a few lakh motorists are forced to drive their vehicles without the regulation pollution under control certificates, exposing themselves to booking by the police.
