Bangalore Police Commissioner S Mariswamy has directed Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration) T G Doreswamy Naik to probe into the incident in which some CAR (South) personnel were accused of trying to cut trees at a farmhouse in Hanli village in Sakleshpur taluk on May 6. It may be recalled that two persons, including a plantation worker and a police van driver, were apprehended and handed over to the police by angry villagers. The tyres of the police van were deflated by the villagers. Mr Mariswamy said it will also be probed whether DCP (South) of the City Armed Reserve (CAR), Mr K Seetharam, said to be a friend of the owner of the farm who is based in Bangalore, had sent the police van to cut the trees.
