Police fired five rounds in the air to disperse a huge group of farmers of the Mandya Zilla Hitarakshana Samithi who reportedly indulged in arson and stone-throwing in the Krishna Raja Sagar dam region here today in protest against the construction work of the second stage of the Varuna canal to supply water to Mysore district.
