The water pollution in the rivers Buriganga and Shitalakkhya has depleted almost all fishes, said a survey. The survey conducted by the Surface Water Modelling Centre (SWMC), an independent unit under Water Resources Ministry of Bangladesh said "we have not seen a single fishing boat from Mirpur to Pagla point because of non-availability of fishes."
