The women of Pumdi Bhumdi village development committee of Kaski district of Nepal have proved that the poor people earning a living by collecting leaves do not cut down trees. As the women of the VDC learn a living by collecting leaves of Pipal trees under the income generation programme, they do not cut trees and do not allow others to do the same. A positive impact has been created in the environment of the VDC.
