The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board has proposed a Tamil Nadu Rural Water Supply Project with financial assistance from the World Bank to give access to protected drinking water to the rural poor. During the debate for the grants for demands for his department, Local Administration Minister M C Sampath said the project, at a tentative cost of Rs 1,000 crore, would cover the entire state.
