Poverty of thought

It is confirmed now. Indians are less poor today than they were 10 years ago. Poverty line runs at 26 per cent, rather than 35 per cent. Statisticians say that the figures are true and all the debate on the issue can be safely ignored. Still there are two things that mar this picture that is 10 per cent less dreary. About 65 out of 1,000 new borns die in this country (5 in UK) reflecting lack of nutrition and health care...editorial
