The Union Environemtn Minsiter, Mr Suresh Prabhu, has called for greater international cooperation for controlling illegal trade in tiger products to combat the steady decline in tiger population world-wide. In a letter to the ambassadors/high commissioners of the Global Tiger Forum, he stresed the need for "effective control of both domestic and international trade in tiger products through national cooperation", stated a press release issued here.
