Prakash refutes Opposition charge on water schemes

The Minister for Rural development and Panchayat Raj, Mr. M.P. Prakash, refuted the Opposition allegations in the Legislative Assembly that the government had allowed funds earmarked for augmenting drinking water supply to lapse. Mr. Prakash was replying to a notice of adjournment motion from the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge. The opposition barring one or two members representing smaller parties, walked out of the House dissatisfied with the reply given by the Minister.
