Terming "ridiculous' the assurance of the Delhi Government vis-:-vis adequacy of water and power in the city, Delhi BJP leader Harsh Vardhan has asked the Prime Minister to step in and resolve the dispute between Haryana and Delhi over the sharing of water. In a statement issued over the weekend, Dr. Vardhan said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should instruct the Union Power Ministry to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the city and summon the Chief Ministers of Haryana and Delhi to resolve the issue of water sharing. He said in spite of being in power in both Haryana and Delhi, the Congress had not been able to secure Delhi its legitimate quantum of water. He also criticised the State Government for failing to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the city. Many areas in the city have been facing power cuts for the past three days, he added.
