Swanky malls, apartments and playing home to some of the biggest MNCs may have made Gurgaon one of the hottest destinations near Delhi. Never mind that for this to happen, the Haryana government seems to have virtually sold off almost half the available land to private parties. The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) owns approximately 10,000 acres in Gurgaon. In comparison, 8,000 acres are owned by private developers. And if the policies adopted by the state government are any indication, the private players will not only catch up with HUDA but soon own most of the land.
